A little info on the company that made the glove first to give you an idea of the quality: Ben Stobbe was hired as the superintendent for the soft leather department in 1938. It was he, along with William I, who came up with some of the most innovative glove designs of the 1940\'s and early 1950\'s. According to Bill Sonnett III, during the 1950’s and 60’s, the company employed between 150 and 250 people.

During this time period, William Sonnett was instrumental in all facets of the business. He was a stickler for quality products and would inspect the items to make sure that the stitching was done properly. One of the choices he made was to use the \"Velvo-Tan\" branded leather. The quality of this leather can be determined when one puts their hand into an OK MFG Co. or Sonnett glove. In addition to their fine baseball gloves, OK MFG Co. continued to produce the inflatable balls that had been the cornerstone of their business from the beginning. The 1940\'s saw the business expand but they were also asked to help out with the war effort. They produced sporting goods for the servicemen as well as \"barbed wire gauntlets\" so that troops could maneuver into enemy territory.

Now about the glove itself: This was a top of the line glove and produced by the Sonnett company as the Pro Designed Lightening Model 1484 Trap Action with Bat Web Perma Set Deep Cup Pocket. The glove is soft leather and the leather feels and smells good! The lining is all leather with a pinky and a thumb loop strap inside the glove. It has rolled leather piping and is stamped on the front Made In USA Nylon stitched Play OK. On the had strap it has a nice black label Sonnett Craft Built Ada, Ohio label. Also SE-KUR Strap is stamped next to it. There is some wear on the glove, it does have a few minor cracks in the leather on the inside palm of the glove please see photo for detail. It will not effect the gloves performance! The hand strap is missing the leather tie strip which should not be a problem to replace it with a leather tie. Other than general wear for a glove over 50 years old that is the only flaw I see in it. The glove is in very good condition and would be a nice addition to your collection either for display or to use. You will love this glove!! One note there is a small M written on the glove looks like in blue pen. It\'s small and you can see it in the picture I posted of it. The glove is a left hand glove right hand thrower. It measures 15 x 12 inchs.
