I\'m offering for your consideration a museum quality piece created by the Tucson Patania Shop, designed by Frank Patania Sr. This bolo is a classic piece from the early 1950s, in that elegant classic stunning paisley style with a shadowboxed area that includes three top quality wonderful natural turquoises stones which I believe are black webbed Number 8 mine, rare and very valuable, and four hand made and applied raindrops.

This bolo is one of those totally satisfying designs from an aesthetic point of view, so well balanced and so beautiful! This piece is solid in feel and weight and is convex in shape, measuring about 2-3/4\" high x 2-1/8\" wide. It matches well to a unsigned pin of the same maker in my store.  The tie is new but buttery soft and made to look old, 6 ply and also perfection measuring about 40\" end to end with the tips included. There are well matching tips to the bolo as well, about 2-1/4\" high, and the back is made with hand made wires to hold the leather, before the Bennetts were used. The weight without the tie and tips, for the bolo alone is 42.9grams. This bolo is properly signed for the Thunderbird Patania Shop and Frank Patania Sr\'s hallmark as well as for sterling silver. The turquoise was hand cut and buffed, is a natural beautifully webbed and magnificently colored turquoise, all three pieces, just gorgeous. The bottom stone measures 13/16\" by 1\" high, the pear shaped one is about 1\" x 3/4\" and the smallest one 3/4\" x 5/8\".    They are each set in serrated bezels and the entire pieces is in excellent vintage, wearable and collectible condition.

This is a wonderful collectible piece by one of the most important contributors to art in the southwest. Frank\'s work is part of the permanent collection of some of the most important museums such as the Smithsonian Museum, and of course sells at the best galleries. This is a museum worthy example, reflecting the best of Frank Patania Sr\'s talent for excellence in design. It is classic 1950s at its elegant best. It\'s an absolute favorite of mine. It\'s magnificent!

International buyers pay actual shipping cost and are responsible for any customs fees their own countries may apply. Please discuss changing shipping method prior to purchase. My shipping defaults to Express International, which is tracked and insured, but I can consider Priority Mail International. It\'s less expensive and is tracked, but usually cannot be insured. To the UK and Canada, First Class International can be used; it can be tracked to those countries.  I am no longer shipping to Italy and China, but you can talk to me about this, especially if you are a prior customer.

When I include pages from published books in my listings it is in accordance with Fair Use Law, which permits the use of source material for discussion, reference, education and criticism.

Attributions on many of the old pieces of Native American jewelry are sometimes a moving target. All the books have errors, so in addition to counterchecking, I have developed some expertise over the years and I do care about getting it right, so as more information comes to light I update my listings and also get in touch with my previous buyers, to inform them of any changes in attributions. I am sincerely committed to ongoing accuracy.

Everything I sell comes from my personal collection or is something that I would include in my personal collection. Most pieces are museum worthy and gallery suitable, sold to you at great pricing. I vet every item carefully for quality and condition, and offer you the best. I want you to be able to rely on me for top quality, superb items that are often unique and rare examples of old antique vintage southwest, indian, native american and fine gold and gemstones, whether you\'re starting a collection or adding to one, or want something great to wear or gift. My goal is that all my buyers are delighted, that my special pieces find the right homes.
