We are listing this spectacular looking very rarely seen 1797 Georgian bright cut sterling silver teapot (with its wonderful original handle and lid knop) which was made by the well known Sheffield silversmith Thomas Lamborn. The teapot is very elegantly shaped and decorated with a stunningly detailed bright cut design which includes an open cartouche on each side, and it has its very nice original handle and lid knop. It is marked on its base with a lion passant, a duty mark facing right, the date letter X with a crown above it (used for small articles in 1797 in Sheffield), and a serrated TL maker\'s mark. This mark was registered in 1776 by Sheffield silversmith Thomas Lamborn (see page 441 of Jackson\'s Silver & Gold Marks). The teapot is almost 6 inches tall, 11 inches long, weighs 16 ounces, it makes a most beautiful and impressive display piece, and it is in very good condition. Please view the closeup pictures and judge for yourself (the teapot has not been professionally polished). A truly spectacular looking piece of very rarely seen decorative (and functional) Georgian silver. Since there is no monogram on the side cartouches it would be easy to personalize this teapot, either for yourself or as a gift for someone else. The pictures speak for themselves - this is a museum quality Georgian teapot.
