Hand painted production cel, 1st Spider-man Animated series circa 1967. Stock Animation Scene, hand signed MARVEL Legend STAN LEE.STAN LEEcertified. This is a hand painted, Original Production cel from the first Spiderman Animated Series, from 1967. This was an extremely popular series because it was theonlyMarvel Series tohave a largeamount of input from Marvel Comic Book editors, such as Stan Lee. Who is listed in the credits as Smilin Stan Lee. Cel size is 12 x 10 inches, has the 3 hole Acme Punch registration. Xerography ink lines. Piece has been hand signed by the great STANLEE in GOLD Paint pen. It\'s also been signed by the Producer of the 1st season Ray Patterson, in illustration ink. The 1st season is considered to be the best of the 3 years that the series was produced. Asyear 2 and 3 where spliced together scenes fromthe 1st year episodes withre-recored dialog and small connecting scenes.Spider man is a original Marvel creation, Marvel is now owned by Disney. I received this piece from June Patterson\'s collection. June is the daughter of series Producer Ray Patterson. She was also the Story Supervisor and pulled double duty asa cel Painter. This cel is from STOCK Animation created for the first few episodes of Season 1. These stock scenes were painted and held in storage. When needed for the story they were pulled out and photographed over newly painted backgrounds as needed for the story. It was simply re-photographed when used in a new episode. There are many more episodes it was used in. This cost saving technique was widely used in THISseries as you can see by the repeated use of animated sequencesthrough each episode. Of course, the huge value in thispiece is that it\'s signedby the great Stan Lee. Hesigned this for me at the 1998 San Diego International ComicCon. Hand signed in Gold Painted pen, so it will last better then ink.
