Superb Art Nouveau Edward VII Hallmarked Solid Sterling Silver Card Case Made By E J Trevitt & Sons
Description - Splendid rectangular Art Nouveau good gauge solid silver card case with hinged lid, the case has raised foliate borders and has a beautiful hand engraved swags, bow, scroll and floral pattern, the interior is silver - gilt (Gold washed).
The case is fully hallmarked with the three wheatsheaves for Chester assay, the lion passant indicating 925 grade solid sterling silver, the date letter \"J\" for the year 1909 and the makers mark T & S which is T J Trevitt & Sons, the lid is also hallmarked.
Condition - The card case is in very good condition, there are no dents, dinks, splits, holes and repairs, the engraving is in excellent condition which is crisp and clear and the interior silver-gilt is nice and bright with no wear, the hinge is in excellent order with no looseness. To note for accuracy there is a light dint on the lid.
Dimensions & Weight - The card case is 10.3cm long x 7.5cm wide, the weight is 80.3 grams.
