Grafted scrollFull SizeVery nice antique violin. Please carefully examine photos as they are the biggest partof the description. It is in exact condition I received it. Cracks, dents on top plate: 2 fresh open cracks on the top soundpost area and I belive at the bass bar. The cracks seems old, not open and perhaps attention not needed. The crack on the back plate is old and not through nor is open.Varnish seems to be original. Neck is stable. It could be some issues that I am not aware of please ask forphotos if needed to see specific area. I am a collector not a luthier.Please bear in mind that this is a violin for restorers or luthiers who have the ability to work on it. Once repaired it will be a nice instrument. Head is superbly carved. Alwaysseek advice from professional luthier when purchasing antique violin.
Always ask for more photos if in doubt. I prefer informed and confident Buyer. I bought it for my collection to restore. Restoring 4 more and it seems takingme longer than anticipated.
