Alarge and elegant bronzebirdcage chandelier with beautiful empire style decorative features.

Theheavy bronze ceiling roseis fluted at the centre with a detailed foliate wreathembossed at the outer side of the rim. Thechain below has alternate large angular and smaller oval links and it joins to abeautiful large hook, decorated with sweeps of plumage, at the top of the chandelier.

Beneath the hook isa substantialdouble bronze capital, it isembossed with the same leaf pattern as the ceiling rose with the addition of an intricate acorn finial at the centre base. Thethree long and elegant branches of the cage extend out from here,all enhanced with beautifulscrolled features and feathers curling around them. They each join at the base to a capital matching the one seen above. The top mid section of the chandelier is smooth polished bronze and the six arms extend from a ribbed band around the centre.

The sixlong arms are allenhanced with the same lavish decorative detailing as the cage, which gives a superb overall look to the light, and the deepflutedcandle cups at each end have a delicate stippled detail around the rim. All are complete with faux candle sleeves.

The base of the chandelier is gorgeous and richly ornamented with embossed acanthus leaves in the middle, with an undulating foliate garland encircling the outer rim and to complete it in the centre is another fine acorn finial.

In super vintage condition the bronzehas a warm golden patina, and the attention to detail on the decoration is remarkable.
