Squire Ltd Copper and Brass Oil Lamp
with ‘Matador’ Glass Chimney and Solid Brass Oil BurnerAs found in most French banquet lamps even though the name would imply British origin. The burner has a large slightly burned double stitched wick and a rugged thumbwheel wick raising mechanism.

This type burner is found in a number of Dietz Lanterns and Oil Lamps although there is no known connection between Deitz and Squire Ltd.

About The Lamps:This is an antique lamp and has been used. Considering this, the lamp will have signs of use like scuffs or scratches. The brass/copper partshave not been polished so the patina from age is still there. The patina and signs of use tend to add character & collectors usually want the lamp left this way.

The lamp has been checked to be sure the moving parts in the burner work (although they may need to be cleaned a little). We also look over the lamps to check for anything more than signs of normal use. If there is a noticeable dent or ding, we will note that in the listing and include a picture.
