Stampless Hedgesville VA (WV) Apr 25 1850s? Letter about hurt arm :

This cover comes from the Campbell find, an extraordinary collection of over 1,000 letters and postcards, stampless onwards from about 1848 through the 1880\'s, most of which are to John Siler, who was the Postmaster of Berkeley Springs from 15 October 1849 until 4 June 1855 and was a merchant thereafter. While most of the correspondence is local VA letters from family and postmaster business related material, there are a number of letters from friends in more distant origins. There should be detailed scans but if you want a 600 dpi scan sent, please let me know.I have not cleaned or in any way touched most of these covers so, with a little TLC and the judicious use of a conservation cleaning pad, they clean up beautifully. I have been having loads of fun researching the markings and getting items for my own collection of WV postal history.

I guarantee your satisfaction and you may return the cover for any reason whatsoever if you are not totally happy.

I have absolutely no problem with you sending a stamp or coverfor expertization and recommend it for higher value items. Please let me know that you intend to do this when you buy the item so that I note this as sometimes certification can take longer than 90 days. If a certificate comes back as bad or with faults, I will reimburse both your original cost and the cost of certification. I usually only sell high value items with a certificate as I know what a royal pain it is when a cert comes back bad.

I am a stamp collector, not a dealer. I am an APS/RPS/USPCS member and ask you to check my references (many are non stamp related these days as I a moving soon and selling lots of other stuff to clean the house out.)

Shipping Note: I have tried to come up with the most cost-effective method of shipping but the sheer number of items that go \"missing\" when sent to certain countries is just ridiculous.

Simply put: Sales to addresses in the USA, Canada, Great Britain and Australia are all close to regular First Class Mail Rates.

If the value of the item(s) is/are over $100, then Certified Mail will be used for shipments within the USA (Approx. $4 total) and Registered Mail will be used for Canada, Great Britain and Australia. (Approx. $15 total)

For shipments to anywhere else in the world, regardless of value, shipment is via Registered Mail at a cost of $15.00. I have tried to set the shipping calculator that prepares so that it will reflect these costs.

If the shipping charges are off, or seem excessively high - please contact me.

Thank you!

Ian
