Stephen King. The Shining. Doubleday, 1977. A fine example of an early printing of Stephen King\'s third novel. Book and dust jacket are very good (especially for a Doubleday book of this vintage). Minor wrinkling to the edges of the dust jacket. Rubbing to the bottom of the spine. Bottom edge of the pages spackled with tiny ink spots. Dj not price clipped but shows \"T.S. $8.95,\" indicating an early printing. It is NOT a book club edition.
This is apparently a 2nd or 3rd printing of the first edition. The first edition appeared in November 1977 (R49 in the gutter of page 447, indicating the print date). The book then went into Book-of-the-Month Club editions, with new reprints of the first edition starting in early 1978. This volume was printed in April, 1978 (S14 in the gutter of pate 447).in this state, a rare book.
