Beautiful Asian themed heavy restaurant-waredessert plates by Sterling China Co.
Due to shipping weight & size differences the matching dinner plates,bread plates, saucers & oval platters are listed separately.
I believe these dishes once belonged to the now-defunct Reno Hilton. I haveseveral other Reno Hilton marked items (mugs, bags, glasses, etc.) from thesame estate (I will list as soon as I can). I would also guess that theybelonged to a higher-end restaurant and not a buffet – they are way too nicefor a standard casino buffet.
I can document that part of the estate belonged to a former Reno Hiltonemployee, I even have the original flyer from the “Employee Sale” of RenoHilton items that took place on 11/25/2003, but I do not have an actual receiptthat would neatly tie it all together. So, while I believe they were from theReno Hilton, I am not an expert and I do not have direct proof – offer only ifyou are okay knowing this.
Markings & Stamps;
All pieces are marked “Sterling China Wellsville, OH. U.S.A. ©1991” with the Sterlingstamp. Some have additional stamps and/or marks (inspector initials?, grade?,type?), some examples are pictured.
This listing is for the following;
Bread/Dessert Plate – 6 ½” diameter x ¾” tall, 9oz each
Condition;
There are NO; chips, cracks, crazing or evidence of previous repair on anypiece.
They are all used and vary from ‘almost no evidence of use’ to ‘moderate signsof use’ – a majority of them have minimal marks and are very nice.
Signs of use may include surface scratches, surface marks, water marks and/orwear to the gilt. Oval platters show moderate wear to the gilt on the rims, allthe other pieces show very little wear here. Oval platters also have the mostsurface scratches while most other pieces have very little. Most of the saucershave mild-moderate water marks, while most of the other pieces have none orvery few (except for one dinner plate, pictured in another listing).
Most of the pieces have tiny puckers and/or small misses of gloss to theundersides which appear to be from normal manufacturing (examples pictured).

All of these pieces have been individually wrapped for both storage andshipping safety. Only the ‘best’ and ‘worst’ example of each kind of piecepictured is marked any differently than the others (‘best’ will go to the firstpurchaser and the ‘worst’ will go to the last) – all others will be a random draw.*If you are buying more than one plate*please request an invoice after placing what you want into your shopping cart andwait for my response before paying – I combine by weight, keep flat rate boxesin stock and can often save you quite a bit on a larger purchase.
