I am not an expert on these items all. This has been around the family for years. Bottom is marked STERLING C 1517 with a + sign under the C. Cannot really identify the makers mark, perhaps a duck or chicken. Please see photos, I have tried to provide an adequate number of pics to give you a good idea of what you are offerding on. Has \"M\" monogram as can be seen. Weights 6.5 ounces. 11\" long, 7\" wide at the widest point. 1.25\" to 2\" deep depending on where you measure. Since sides/ends slope up it is deeper at the ends than in the middle. Does need polishing and has lots of very light scratches which should polish out easily. One corner has 6 to 8 pings/small dents which are photographed, other wise good except for the light scratches.
