DescriptionAkoya pearls are predominately made throughout Japan and China. They have been farmed for nearly 100 years. They are known for their luster and round appearance. An Akoya pearl comes from a salt water oyster, the Pinctada martensii. Our pearls come in many different colors with the main ones being white, pink, purple, and black. Akoya pearls are highly prized due to their near-perfect roundness. Akoya are considered to be the classic pearl used for necklaces and other pearl jewelry. With round shapes, bright mirror-like luster, and neutral colors, Akoya pearls are favored by most retailers and consumers as the classic pearl choice.

Carefully cut down each side of the oyster to cut the muscle that holds the oyster so tightly closed. Once that muscle has been cut, it should open easily. Size and RatingThis sale includes an oyster with a pearl that is 6-7mm and are AAA rated, which is the highest-quality pearl, virtually flawless. The surface will have a very high luster, and at least 95% of the surface will be free from any type of defect. The pearl will be near-perfectly round, and have a mirror-like luster, and a nacre thickness of 0.4 mm or higher..
PackagingEach Akoya oyster is individually wrapped in a vacuum sealed package. This type of packaging ensures that they will last longer because you can choose to open one at a time. These oysters are not alive and they have been preserved to allow them to stay fresh as long as possible. It is recommended that you keep them in a cold, dry place until you decide to open them. Once opened, discard of the shell and remains as quickly as possible. Oysters that remain in the vacuum-sealed package should remain fresh for at least 6 months. These oysters are not meant for be used for food because they have chemical preservatives that are not meant for consumption.
Shipping and HandlingThe pendant and necklace are both placed carefully inside the black jewelry bag along with the Akoya oyster. Yourentire order will be placed in a bubble package to protect the contents during shipment. We ship with the utmost attention to a safe arrival for your precious cargo!
Shipping within the continental United States is $4.95. We do not ship outside of the continental United States or Internationally. Shipping time can be anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks.
