STERLING SILVER MILK OR CREAM JUG - BIRMINGHAM 1898:

The item measures 2.3 inches high and 3.7 inches from handle to spout. The jug weighs 43.9g (1.55oz).

The side has a full set of hallmarks for Birmingham 1898 (see photograph 6). The makers mark is rubbed and is either JC or JG. Taking the date into account, I think it is most likely to be JG for Joseph Gloster.

CONDITION:- Surface wear and scratching visible on the undecorated silver surface, with some tarnish/toning and a little old polish under rims and crevices. The gilt lined interior is rubbed a little thin but still showing some colour.
