Thought to have been made in Peru this super platter has a green (faux verdigris) finish over hammered copper and is decorated beautifully with an Aztec design in silver to the centre well. There is also a silver strap form border to the rim as can be seen in the images. The silver is marked as being 925 (sterling).

It is in good condition for its vintage or perhaps even antique years with just the occasional presence of copper showing through the green which is not excessive and rather pleasing to the eye, however there is a large ‘scratch’ to the reverse of the piece which of course does not show when the item is on display. There is a hanging device also to the reverse although the piece does look super when displayed as a shallow bowl or platter. There are no structural faults.

Displays magnificently, an unusual and interesting piece.
