This is an interesting, possibly unique, sterling silver hand made Sciarrotta DOUBLE LEAF (1C) bowl. I see singles and triples but no doubles. (After being smuggled out of Italy in 1944, Alfredo Sciarrotta set up shop in Newport Rhode Island in 1948 as silversmith to Gorham, Black Star, Cartier, Bailey Banks & offerdle and others until his retirement in 1975.) Each Ivy shaped leaf is about 4 7/8\", total length 9 3/4\". This hand madedouble bon bon dish was commissioned as a trophy in 1957 by the newly founded (1956)New England Horsemen\'s Council. Thistrophy wasthe \"High Score Award, Three Gaited Pony\".Perhaps Alfredo was a Horseman too. Weight is 184 grams. Similar triples consistently sell for over $500.00.
