Here for sale is a fine example of a vinaigrette made in Birmingham in 1856 by Edward Smith, I can see all the hallmarks except for theBirminghammark but as the maker is Edward Smith I am sure that the vinaigrette was produced there. The vinaigrette is shaped with an engine turned top and bottom and engraved edges. The cartouche is empty.the interior grill has a scroll leaf pattern on it and it has come off its hinge but is still complete. It still has the original sponge. The vinaigrette still has its original gilding.are 28 x 19.5 x 8mmand its weighs 14grams.
