I received this in trade from a Navajo friend who said it was made by Norman Yazzie along with many other southwestern Navajo and Zuni items. I didn\'t list it as specifically Navajo as it is not signed and I simply don\'t know its maker personally. So buy this piece as a nice stick pin in its own right. I\'m a registered Native American artist and am happy when I make small ones this nice - small is often harder than big! I don\'t know the tradition around Malachite as for its meaning - I just love green stones - Copper is special to most Native American in the USAand First Nation Canadians because copper turns green - it gives or represents life and growth. The green in this stone is from copper in it so it is also special - I do a lot of work in copper for this reason as well as silver. A search of the internet on Malachite however gave many meanings - here are some:

Malachite - strong protector of children and protect the wearer from accidents and protects travelers.Used to aid success in business and protect againstundesirable business associations and gives balance in relationships, mood swings and heals cramps! I can\'t promise all these things but they sound good and the stone itself is beautiful in a stick pin setting.
