This is a truly charming and unusuallydecorated chocolate pot. The \"VictorianStyle\" palette of hunter green, seafoam, yellow and burnt siennaprovide a backdrop for a bouquet ofdramatically painted ruby and yellowroses on stem and leaf. The artistsignature \"Rogin\" appears where huntergreen meets seafoam, to the left of thebeautifully gilded handle. The reversefeatures a cluster of burnt siennaleaves and gnarled branches reaching upfrom the base. The mouth and basefeature embossed patterns that addfurther elegance to the piece. Thecurved handle, lid finial, sculpted rimand spout are gilded in a rich, Romangold that shows no wear. The undersideof the spout is also decorated with adelicately gilded cartouche. This isa lovely blank with an embossed patternaround the mouth and base. It measures11 1/2 inches to the top of the gildedfinial, 5 inches across the swell ofthe pot, and 6 inches from the mouth tothe widest point of the handle. Thereis a small flake on the ruby rosenearest to the handle as pictured. Thisis a firing flaw from the manufacturingprocess, not considered as damage, andmentioned for accuracy. The gold workremains in perfect condition. Theblank is marked with the green Legrandunderglaze factory mark that dates itto the 1920s. It also bears theLazeyras, Rosenfeld, and Lehmanoverglaze decorating mark 3 in green, also used in the 1920s and the words\"Hand Painted\" in red. Other than thefiring flaw previously mentioned, thereare no chips, cracks, spiders, crazingor damage of any kind to this trulymagnificent piece.
