Strking 18th Century Copper Flashed Lead/Pewter Button Conventional Pattern:
$25.00

A striking example of a scarce 18th century technique. A molded lead/pewter button with a conventional pattern has been copper flashed (similar to copper foiling) on the surface only. It has a stippled background. The button retains much of the copper, yet you can see where the technique around the rim where some of the copper flashing has been rubbed. The button \'writes\' on paper. It measures 1 inch in diameter. It has an applied large eyed wire loop shank. It is not of lead or pewter. Much sturdier and does not \'write\' as does the body of the button. It is in excellent condition considering the extraordinary age of the button.Buy with confidence as all my items arrive with an unconditional return policy.
