Beautiful Antique Chinese Bi Disc, Qing Dynasty Mutton Fat Hetian JadeWe are selling a beautiful Bi disc rendered in bright white mutton fat jade, very well-carved on both sides. The front carved with six very tastefully and smoothly rendered scrolls arranged along a trilaterally symmetric division, the reverse carved in traditional grain motif. The bi is very beautifully polished in the old style -- an oily sheen over a slightly uneven surface. The material is an amazing mutton fat nephrite with one almost invisible russet inclusion only visible from the grain side as depicted in last photo. The stone is not celadon, but WHITE, and displays beautiful “little clouds” nephrite texture under flashlight. Highly dense and smooth, rendered of a nicely proportioned piece of jade with a very hefty feel in the hand. In excellent condition, with assorted very minor edge chips from age as depicted in photos.
