Thisis a fabulous, rare, antique, 1830, Nathaniel Mills, sterling silver and gilt,rectangular snuff/pill box,withengine turned engraved decoration both top and bottom. Atruly stunningpiece of Nathaniel Mills workmanship, fully hallmarked NM for NathanielMills, with lion passant, anchor assay stamp for Birmingham, and a gothic date letter G for 1830.

A very crisp, early 19th century, hallmarked solid silver & gilt snuff/pill box, made by Nathaniel Mills inBirminghamin 1830. It also features beautiful curved sides with exquisite pin stripe decoration, and vacant cartouche. Internally its stamped both top and bottom with the NM maker\'s mark for Nathaniel Mills.

Considering this snuff/pill box is 184 yearsold it\'s in pretty good original condition. It does have some age related patina wear & gilt discolouration and a couple of tiny/minutelittle nicks/dents on its base,commensuratewith it\'s age, but nothingunusual, whoever purchases this will not be disappointed, because its beautiful !!!

Nathaniel Mills was a registered silversmith in Birmingham, between 1826-1857 and is undoubtedly, one of the most famous and collectable of all the Victorian silversmiths, his pieces are basically works of silver art.Abeautiful example of a 19th century snuff/pill box,by the very best as follows

Height: 0.3 inch or 1.5 cm

Weight: 1.9 oz or 54 grams

This is as good as it gets with regards toNathaniel Mills,it\'s all original, how manyof these have you seen, still intact.An extremely rare find indeed.
