This is a fine example of an early Faux Tortoiseshell Brooch, which dates to the Regency Period, it has a stunning colour with a floral motif within a scrolled border created in fineGold & SilverPiquéInlay(please see the detailed close-upphotographs provided, which form an integral part of the item\'s description).
The Brooch is in superb condition with no chips, cracks or splits and only wear to the surface of the Faux Tortoishell and Gold & SilverPiquéInlay commensurate with age. The pin, hinge and clasp may be a later Victorian base metal replacement but they work perfectly and the Brooch is ready to be worn.
This fine Brooch has a diameter of approx\' 26mm and it weighs 5.5 grams.
