This stunning antique cotton quilt was quilted and appliqued by hand and is in excellent condition. The hand quilting was done with tiny stitches at about 7 stitches per inch counted on one side. The hand appliqued vines and leaves were stitched at 8 to 9 stitches per inch. The leaves were mainly made from feedsack prints and the base of the top and the backing were made from sugar or flour sacks. The gold floral binding that surrounds the quilt was made from feedsack fabrics also. It is a summer weight quilt, it was made without batting. The only thing that I have found is a bit of very very light yellowing on a seam where the sacks were sewn together and on a fold line. I did not see them in indoor light but hanging outside I found them. It is a late 1920\'s or 1930\'s quilt, it is clean, odor free and 70 by 80 inches. The photos were taken on a queen size bed but it would be better for a full bed.
