Exquisite Victorian Hallmarked Solid Sterling Silver Vesta Case Made ByHenry Matthews
Description - Wonderfulantique late 19th century Victorian good gauge solid silver Vesta Case of rectangular form with spring hinged lid, thumb piece, suspension loop and a match striker on the base. The Vesta Case a lovely scrolling shape body beautiful handengraved withbright cut clover leaf patternson both sides and a vacantshield.
The Vesta Case is fully hallmarked with the Anchor for Birmingham assay, the lion passant indicating 925 grade solid sterling silver, the date letter \"w\" for the year 1896 and the maker\'s mark \"H M\" which isHenry Matthews.
Condition -The Vesta Case is in very condition, there are no dents, dinks, splits or holes,there are just two minor tiny dints on the bottom corner. Theengraved decoration is in remarkable condition being crisp, clear with no rubbing or wear and the spring hinged flicks open and snaps shut.
Dimensions & Weight -The Vesta Case is 4.5cm long x 3.3cm wide. The weight is 25.4 grams.
