An exquisite Chinese export silver handled basket. It is hallmarked witha Chinese character to its base – see photo, and tests as high grade silver. It dates toc1890. It has been beautifully hand-made being intricately pierced andengraved with a prunus blossom design and is supported on four bamboo stylelegs. It has unusual double strand handle which forms a knot at its apex. It isin perfect condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs – note allthe pieced work has been meticulously examined. It measures 6.75 inches (17.2cms)across by over 4.25 inches (11cms) wide by approx. 5 inches (12.7cms) tall andweighs a respectable 126 grams. A stunning piece in outstanding condition.
