Stunning Georgian Regency Leather Silver Shoe Foot Patch Snuff Box Dated 1828:

A lovely little leather patch box in surprisingly good antique condition, considering it\'s age. I believe this is a patch box, and not a snuff box, because of the old mirror in the lid and the clean condition of the interior, but I\'m not an expert, and could easily be wrong. The sole of the shoe is beautifully decorated with the tiniest silver nails in the pattern of a shield, crown, flower and initials AK and WB. Dated 1828. A wedding gift, perhaps? As can be seen in the photos, it has a bit of rubbing and wear at the edge of the join between the foot and the lid, and the mirror on the inside of the lid has clouded over. The lid is snug, but is easily removed. The silver nails on the bottom of the shoe are all intact, as far as I can tell, but some of them are tarnished. It measures 4\" long x 1 1/2\" wide x 1 1/2\" tall.
