$899.00
You are offerding on a stunning, Georgian , silver-mounted, carved coconut cup. The carving is in circular geometric forms and the cup has a silver mounted rim, a pedestal base, and round silver mount that bears partial hallmarks from Exeter, probably George Ferris, 1824-25. The base is inscribed, \"To B.L. Richards Esq\". And also the following poem, \"To him who in the hour of need, Flies to assist mankind, To him be every praise deserved, All honor be assigned. No sordid motive sways the man, The poor his aid receive, And like The Good Samaritan, He hastens to relieve. W.H.\" The silver is .925 fine. The cup measures 7\" tall and 4 3/4\" wide. There are a few rim dents and some light scratches but this is a beautiful piece.
