Vintage Native American Bisbee Turquoise Ring:
$72.00

This is a listing for a vintage Native American turquoise ring.
It\'s unmarked and tested as sterling. It features a large natural turquoise stone that appears to be from the Bisbee mine in Arizona. It has a freeform shape with a very thick cut that rises high above the bezel but with a flat surface, not domed. The stone by itself measures 13/16th inches in length and 5/8th across it\'s widest section. From the base of it\'s bezel to the top surface of the stone measures .25 inches. The face of the ring measures .75 inches wide and one inch in length. It weighs a sturdy 10.6 grams and is a size 9. The band is a little wider than average so will fit slightly tighter on the finger. It\'s chisel split all the way to the base and has maintained an excellent shape.
The stone is very hard with a strong polish and a rich blue color. It has a translucent quality seen in good turquoise, along with visible marks of the hand cutting process on it\'s surface. It was set in a smooth bezel for a streamlined presentation. The stone was cut with beveled edges…something you can do with a hard stone. A small amount of matrix on one side is exposed, but very hard and stable, not crumbling, and adds to it\'s natural quality. A twisted rope frames the stone.
A striking ring both for in it\'s simplicity and beautiful color. Thank you for looking.
