Stunning Silver tea-set Joseph and John Angell London 1832:

Description:An outstanding George IV/William IV matched silver tea-set, of generous size, weight and gauge, with an elegant lobed design characteristic of this period, with sturdy acanthus handles, all three pieces raised on pretty feet. Original silver-gilt interiors in fine condition, the teapot with a wonderful flower finial. A fantastic period silver tea-set, ready to be used.

Both the teapot and milk jug are hallmarked with the maker’s mark for famous makers Joseph and John Angell, with the date letter ‘r’ for 1832, although the duty mark is that of George IV. The matching sugar bowl has the earlier date of 1827 and a maker’s mark which is hard to make out.

Condition:The set is in superb condition with no damage or repair and minimal wear, ready to be used. All three pieces stand firm without wobbling, the hinge is firm and there is no play in the handle.
