$1555.77

This dynamic, joyous figure in richly marbled tawny soapstone is in impeccable condition. It measures 4.15 inches in height, approx. 4.25 in width and about 3 inches in depth. It weighs 2 lbs 10 oz. Very few Inuit soapstone sculptures exist of dancing human figures, though there are many of dancing bears. Arnold Kayutak was a highly-regarded native Alaskan artist, of the Inupiat people, born in the Wainwright area north of the Artic Circle in about 1929. He disappeared under mysterious circumstances--probably while hunting--in 1989, his body never was found.
