This is a stunning little piece that is I believe English and dates from c 1850 or slightly earlier of a little later so a Victorian piece. It is a beautiful cheroot cutter to be worn on a chain like a fob. It is quite beautifully made and there is a small button that is pressed in order to open the cutter. This lovely little item is quite a gem and is made from a gold coloured or gilt metal with mother of pearl. The piece is in very good antique condition the button works wonderfully and the mother of pearl is beautiful.There is a tiny area of loss to the mother of pearl. This is a very tiny amount and is hardly noticeable but mentioned as I like to describe pieces as fully as possible. In my opinion this does not detract from the piece. Cheroot fob cutters are quite rare and this piece is just so beautiful and tactile. I would also imagine that as well as going on a Gentleman\'swatch chain, this is so dainty that it could be added to a ladies pocket watch or evenasa piece on a chatelaine.
