Stunning Vintage MORENCI Turquoise and Coral 6-Strand Old Pawn Navajo Necklace:

This stunning six strand Old Pawn Navajo necklace boasts 79 pieces of Morenci Turquoise nuggets. These beautiful nuggets range in size from 1/4\" to a little over 1/2.\" The Morenci Turquoise mine produced a light to bright blue turquoise. Morenci turquoise has an unusual matrix/inclusions of pyrite and quartz (as can be seen in detail in photo\'s.) It was one of the first American turquoises to come to market. The Morenci mine in southEastern Arizona is now closed making Morenci turquoise highly collectible. Note: Interesting little detail one strand begins and ends with a nugget that is half turquoise and half quartz.There are also small red coral tube beads used as spacing between the turquoise nuggets. These coral tube beads are about 1/4\" in length.The six strands of beads are strung on a fine smooth twine (I\'ve included a close-up photo of this.)It is 42\" round (21\" from the top knot to lowest hanging strand.) This necklace weighs in at 7oz.
