MAPPIN & WEBB - 6 troy oz. - SUPERB & VALUABLE PIECE

This is a super VINTAGE solid sterling silver LARGE gravy or sauce boat that was made in London, England in 1933 by the illustrious Victorian silversmiths, Mappin & Webb at their Oxford Street workshops. It is raised on three elegantART NOUVEAUmounted feet and is finished with beautifully decorated edges and an elegantcapped scrollhandle - all in a STUNNING design. It measures3 5/8\" high by 3 1/2\" wide by 6\" long from handle to lip.It is VERY substantial - it weighs183.0 grams -almost6troy oz.

It is invery good condition for its age with a little less than the surface scratching, NO dingsor dents, without the usual compression with NO cracks or repairs andis withoutdistortion - it stands nicely level on itsfeet - see photographs - SUPERB. It is hallmarked with Mn&Wb, anchor, lion passant (sterling silver assay mark),J showing that it was hallmarked in Birmingham in 1933. A really lovely and very rare VINTAGE MAPPIN & WEBB piece in superb condition afterover 80 years - at a very low start and !!!
