Victorian Sterling Silver Book Chain Double Sided Locket Necklace :

This has to be one of the most unusual books chains I have seen in a while. It is alternating Crosses on the top and bottom of each link with a ball motif in the center. Each cross plaque is then attached to a etched and soldiered flat ovals with a ribbon back. The clasp is a large spring clasp which works perfectly at the back of the necklace. The locket that is affixed to the bottom cross is equally as finely detailed. The face has an etruscan feeling to it with etched floral or paisley motif bordered with a bead ring and diamond shapes. The opposing side of the locket is completely hand stamped and etched in the form of many Pansy flowers with a sweet love hear in the center. I almost prefer the heart side facing out as this came from my personal collection, which I am slowly making room in, so you will see some of my personal treasures surfacing soon. The inside of the locked possesses its original frames with no glass present. I was unable to find any hallmarks but I did have all parts tested as Sterling Silver. It is a great length and a fabulous look.
