Superb 1934 English Sterling Silver 6pc Melon Form Tea Set William Adams

Presented is a superb English sterling silver 6 piece tea set. This set was made by William Adams and dates to 1934. The set is done in an appealing ribbed melon form, with beautifully hand chased designs around the upper portion of each piece. The handles of the three pots are fantastically carved from rich mellow wood, mounted at 90 degree angles to the silver bodies, very secure and well designed. Each piece is spotlessly clean and ready for use, both inside and out.

The set consists of

Teapot--10 1/2 inches from handle to spout, stands about 7 inches tall. Capacity of 6 cups (48 fluid ounces/1.4 liters)

Coffee pot--8 3/4 inches tall. Capacity of 5 1/2 cups (44 fluid ounces/1.3 liters)

Kettle-on-stand--13 inches tall on stand with handle upright. 9 5/8 inches on stand. 6 5/8 inches off stand. Capacity of 8 1/2 cups (68 fluid ounces/2.0 liters)

Sugar bowl--Measures about 5 7/8 inches from handle to handle, stands about 4 inches tall.

Creamer--Stands about 3 7/8 inches tall.

Waste bowl--Stands about 3 1/4 inches tall.

Each piece is hallmarked on the underside with the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard\'s head for the city of London, the date letter t for 1934 and the maker\'s mark for William Adams, as well as Made in England, sterling, and the product number 2010. The lid of the sugar bowl has the lion passant, the date letter t, the leopard\'s head, and the maker\'s mark repeated. The kettle, teapot, and coffee pot all have the lion passant and the date letter t on the inside of their lid. The stand for the kettle and the inside of the burner have the lion passant, the leopard\'s head, and the maker\'s mark repeated. Even the keys and the links of their chains on the stand are all hallmarked with the lion passant. Everything is 100% original and fully hallmarked.

This set is in excellent condition. The lids all close nice and tight. The handles are securely mounted and tight to the bodies. The burner is in good working condition. There are no splits, no leaks, no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.

The total weight for the set is 4590 grams or 161.9 regular ounces.
