Great Deal on a Superb Vernon Powell Vintage Hand-Cut Sterling Silver Flute Headjoint!!
Take your Flute Playing to the Next Level!
Description
This 1970s vintage hand-cut Verne Q. Powell solid sterling silver headjoint has a robust sonority and superb tonal quality that is equally well-suited for both the orchestral flute player, as well as for the jazz player. Articulation is crisp and clean, and intonation is excellent throughout its broad dynamic range. It produces a rich tone with extraordinary clarity, carrying power, and focus. As shown in the photos, the headjoint is in near-mint condition. A quality mahogany headjoint case is also included.
I played this headjoint with my Powell Signature Series flute, which it fit perfectly. It also fits my Gemeinhardt 5SS flute. If you play a different make of flute, you may have to add a bit of tape to the barrel of the flute, or have it re-sized to fit your flute. Any flute technician can do this for you for a very modest cost.
Note: After showing the flute headjoint from every possible angle, I decided to include some photos to celebrate the holiday season. I hope you enjoy them!
Powell Flutes
Verne Q. Powell Flutes was founded in 1927 by Verne Powell to provide professional flutists with custom made precious metal flutes. The first 10 flutes made by Mr. Powell were owned by some of the most famous American flutists of the time, and by 1930, Powell flutes were part of major orchestras in Baltimore, Boston, Cleveland, Detroit, New York, and Philadelphia.
Today,Powell Flutes are recognized worldwide as some of the best flutes made. All Powell headjoints have similar characteristics that are referred to as \"The Powell Sound.\"Every Powell headjoint is known for its color, clarity, depth and projection. Each style is designed to fit many types of music, flute playing and players, as well as their individual requirements. Powell headjoints are made by professional flutists and craftsmen, who have been trained in the traditional style of headjoint making at Powell Flutes.
