Original Antique French Bronzed Spelter Mantel Clock

This is your chance to own the most beautiful early 19th century French figural mantel clock. The clock is made of bronze spelter and features a charming figure Greek or Roman lady holding a havesting sheath. The molding is very fine with super detail with dove loving birds over the dial. The case has a lovely finish and the clock has a good quality brass 8 day movement which strikes on a bell.

Case
- Wonderful original finish spelter and slate case
- Stepped plinth base with geometric gilt details detailing and carved feet
- Beautiful figure on top of a seated lady

Dial

- The slat dial features black Roman numerals and steel cut hands
- Two winding holes for the two trains of the movement - dial is signed C Detouche A Paris

Movement
- Brass French 8 day striking movement
- Bears makers mark C Detouche A Paris
- This is a striking clock and strikes the half and counts the hour
- Movement will run for approximately 8 days when fully wound
- Clock has a good action and keeps good time
- Comes complete with winding key and pendulum

Measurements
- Clock measures approximately 40cm (16 inches) high by 45cm wide and 15cm deep

Condition
- Condition is generally very good and the clock has a nice patina
- This clock is a genuine antique so it will inevitably have signs of age and wear, the odd mark the nibble to the case
- Movement has been cleaned and oiled and is in full working order
- The case looks to be in lovely conditionn - all totally original
