ITEM DESCRIPTION
Item Description
Up for your consideration is a superb and rare late 19th C. Chinesecloisonné figure of a camel, c. 1890. The piece is very large, measuring 26\" long, 25\" tall, and 11\". It has aturquoise ground bearing a foliate, phoenix, and dragon form motif with four detachable ornamental pieces. This large scalepiece is as ornate and I fine as I have seen from this era.
The camel is in excellent condition, with only two minor flaws. One of the attached pieces has some whiteness to the tip (see last photo), and the brass bottom to the underside of one foot is missing. Overall, these are trivial issues, and, condition-wide, you are unlikely to find any better example.
