Superb Antique 19th Century Victorian Rolled Gold Handle & Tip Rosewood 32\" Walking Stick Cane Gentlemen\'s Cane
When the jeweler advised that the handle and tip were gold, he stated that this was a rolled gold process which results in a thicker gold surface than is present with gold plating. He also stated that the base metal is probably brass.
This 19th Century 32\" stick/cane is in beautiful condition with a unique ornate repousse scroll motif on the handle and matching tip. There is a later modification to the tip which is presumed to be done for protection, while being used (please see photos).
There is a finely engraved monogram on the approx. 3.5\"x2\" gold top (GW or M???). The gold tip is approx. 3\" long.
I think the shaft is rosewood and has a gorgeous grain. There are a couple of marks on the shaft (please see photos).
Condition: A couple marks on the length of the cane. See pictures for details.
