A wonderful antique Georgian English solid sterling silver parcel gilt vinaigrette by famed and sought-after maker Nathaniel Mills. Lovely quality, its lid bears a finely hand chased surround around an engine turned central panel, bearing the initials \'JMH\', its base is engine turned and it hinges open to reveal its gilded silver grille, hand pierced and bearing an engraved floral wheel design. The grille in turn, hinges open to access its internal scent compartment where there is still a very old scent sponge. Nathaniel Mills\' marks are on the lid, the base, and unusually, the underside of the grille too.It\'s hallmarked for Birmingham 1832and isinexcellent, fully working condition throughout, with minimal to no wear/ageing and no loss or damage. It weighs16.8grams and measuresjust under 1½ inches x just under 1inch. The final photo shows it with a US penny (1 cent) coinfor scale, which measures19mm/ ¾ of an inchdiameter.
