A SUPERB MUSEUM QUALITY AUSTRIAN VIENNA BRONZE OF A FANTASTIC SITTING BULLDOG !!! VERY POSSIBLY BY BERGMANN DATING TO C 1870-1910. This is a superb museum quality Austrian Vienna Bronze (Bronze de Vienne, Wiener Bronze, Cold Painted Bronze) It dates to c1900. The bronze is very possibly made by Bergmann although it is not signed. It clearly is of the highest quality of Vienna Bronzes.
It features the most wonderful and massive sitting bulldog .
The expressions on their faces are fantastic. The details are superb. One of the very best Vienna Bronzes with everything we look for.
The paint is in wonderful original age condition with minor paint loss commensurate with its age. the face are superbly modeled. These are antique vienna bronzes, not new reproductions! this is unsigned.
The bronze is 4.2 inches (10.5 cm) high , and 3.3 inches (8.5 cm) width . There is no damage to the bronze. The paint is in excellent period condition with some very minor loss to the paint . The bronze is solid.
