Here for your consideration is a magnificent and rare, genuine original, 1936, Art Deco, silver, and shagreen, miniature travelling, pocket watch, complete with green leather and gilt, display/presentation box

This delightful open-faced, stem set, squarecased,travelling miniature pocket watch is finished with beautiful sterling silver that\'s covered both sides in shagreen (sharks skin).It has a gold winding corn with adjustment mechanical movement and silver dial, complete with blued and cream steel minute and second hands.

Atruly stunning piece of 1930s Art Deco, silver/shagreen workmanship. The inner case is stamped with the serial number 42- S6542. It\'s also stamped with the maker\'s initials SSM in a diamond cartouche, anchor assayed in Birmingham with the lion passant and the date letter \'M\' for 1936.

Considering this beautiful miniature pocket watch is 82 yearsold it\'s inexcellentworking condition with no dents or damage. Itdoes have some beautiful age-related silver/shagreen patination, commensurate with 82 years of age, but nothing unusual.

Shagreen is a type of rawhideconsisting of rough untanned skin, historically from a horse\'s or onager\'sor from shark or ray. In modern times, shagreen is produced from the skins of commercially farmed Asian stingrays.
