This is a superb big Antique Victorian circa 1890 Scottish agate sterling silver bow design brooch.This is stunning example with all the agates in exquisite condition with no chips or cracks. The brooch has been beautifully constructed and has been curved slightly to fit the wearers chest.I have collected agates in Scotland for over 20 years and know where most of the lovely gemstones that Victorians used for their classic jewellery were found.
The superb gemstones used for this brooch are stunning green and red speckled bloodstones from the Isle of Rum, grey banded agate from Montrose and pink banded agates from near Cupar in Fife.The brooch width is large at 5.2 cm ( Just over two inches ) and the pin and C clasp are in good working condition and original.If when you receive your winning item and for any reason are not happy with the purchase please get in touch before leaving response and I will endeavour to resolve any issue you may have amicably.
