Superb French 800 Silver Pot:

This is a superb 800 silver pot. Crafted In France c1837 - no makers mark. Silver is in excellent condition with slight wobble on base when standing. Cobalt insert has 1 small chip which I show in the pics which cannot be seen at all when \"in situ\". Slightly puzzled by the marks - 3 stamps on the lid with 2 showing 800 silver & 1 showing 950 silver (page 193 in Tardy) - 1 showing 800 silver & the other showing that it was made in Paris (Pages 193 & 199 Tardy) have the correct bigorne counterstamps & the 1 on the inside lid showing 950 (again page 193)is not counterstamped. 1 on the base showing 800 silver & 1 showing that it was made in Paris (pages 193 & 199) are correct & again are correctly conterstamped - there is a 950 stamp on one of the pillars which is not counterstamped. I cannot find a makers mark so it must have been crafted before 1838.The spoon is base metal but looks O.K. I hope that is all easy to understand - but I have tried to show them clearly in the pics. It is a wonderful pot in fantastic condition.
The pot measures approx 5\" handle to handle & approx 5 1/2\" tall to top of pineapple finial. Weighs (silver only) 4 1/2 oz (128 grammes)
