This isa superb Staffordshire porcellaneous scottish male figure with the seated black & white dog to the sideof which:
During our research we have been informed itcertainlydates from the mid 19th century.
Datesabout male figure in wonderful huntsman dress attire wearing a plumed hat.
In his hand he holds a hunting horn.
Powder horn strapped on a sash.
Standing black & dog to the side of the male.
Game bird to the base.
Intricate overall detailing.
Mounted onto the decorative hollow base.
It hasan overall height of about 6.75inches.
Max overall size of the hollow base of about 4.75 x 3.5inches.
Max overall dia of about 5.25inches.
Condition: Considering the age: the overall conditionis very good and is not subject to:
any major blemishes except:
there is early restoration around the circumference of the neck, with the remounting of the head.
Early restoration to the tail area of the dog.
a very minor chip to the end of the raised hunting horn to the mouthpiece end.
Due to age: Areas of larger crazing which appear as hairlines with:
again due to age: areas of age staining.
The dog has a firing crack to his front rear leg which is from time of manufacture.
