Superb Pair Of 16th Century Scottish Oak Wood Carvings Statue Pre-1800 Scottland:

This is a superb pair of very early Scottish oak wood carving. They have been dated as 16th century pieces.

The carvings are absolutely beautiful. The top of the carvings have large central flower. Those flowers are surrounded by a number of further, smaller flowers with leaf and scrolled detail. Running down the length are trailing vine leaves and flowers.

The detail is very intricate and is all in high relief. The wood has a beautiful patina and at the back of carving is wonderfully smooth and \'touch worn\'

Both carvings measure some 20 inches high and 5 inches wide.

The condition of the carvings are excellent and age commensurate. The carvings were purchased and shipped from the UK.

This a very superb and collectable very early Scottish oak wood carving from the 16th century which will display to fine effect.
