Superb Quality English Antique c1800 Hand Carved Coconut Cup w/ Silver Rim

Presented is an antique coconut cup with silver rim made in England during the late 1700s or early 1800s. This is the finest quality coconut cup we have ever seen in our 40 years working with antiques. The hand carved decorations are incredible and detailed. The cup has a bolted silver rim and it is raised on a wooden pedestal base. There are 4 panels of carved design. One is a monogram surrounded by the phrase \'Friendship never to be forgotten\', there is also a brigantine or war ship surrounded by the phrase \'May Britons ever flourish\', there is also a detailed anchor design engraved with the word \'Hope\' in the center and lastly is an old rhyme about friendship \'A little health, a little wealth, a little house and freedom, and at the end a little friend to need \'em\'.

This piece is in great condition for its age. The base is a little loose but sill attached and only has a little wobble. There is one missing bolt or pin along the silver rim. There are no other damages and no repairs.

The cup measures 4 3/4 inches in diameter and is 4 7/8inches tall.
