I have for sale a museum quality superb, rare 18th century Russian snuff box.

This snuff box is dated 1790. It is extremely rare, both because of how old it is and because it is Russian. Most Russian antiques of this age did not survive.

A similar medallion snuff box that dates back to the same time period is currently displayed in a Moscow Museum in Russia. (See pics)

I have done some research on the value of Russian snuff boxes. Most snuff boxes that are available for sale are either silver ones or wood ones. The more expansive ones are made by Faberge. The snuff boxes that date back to the 19th century are sold for anywhere between $5000-$50,000. However, the most valuable snuff boxes are the ones that date to the 18th century and have some connection to the royal family, as the best goldsmiths were commissioned to make those and most of them were given away as gifts or stolen during the revolution and subsequent Soviet regime. These rare snuff boxes are worth $100,000-$500,000.

This snuff box is incredibly well made and is in great original condition.

Would make a wonderful addition to someone\'s snuff box or Russian antiques collection.
