Superb & Rare Antique early 19thc Brass Coconut Grinder / Shredder/ Georgian :

This is a really scarce little piece of antique kitchenalia that would not be found in any ordinary kitchen. It is for shredding the inside of a coconut once it has been opened & the flesh was to be grated. There are 3 holes in the domed base for it to be mounted onto a surface - the cut in half nut would be put against the serrated fins of the sharp ball shaped blade which is then turned by the handle on the side. This is a terrific bit of kit - so beautifully engineered & efficient. Probably Georgian c 1800 - 1820 & in superb original condition - a highly sought after collectors piece. Size 5.25 inches high x 2.5 inches across the base. Thank for looking.
